The South Carolina Film Commission (SCFC) and Trident Technical College (TTC) have teamed up to implement a Production Career Intern Program for residents beginning their careers in production. The program provides extensive hands-on training in a variety of departments on film and TV projects, supplying real-world experience and relationships with department heads and established crew.

Interns are placed on a rolling basis, will be paid an hourly wage, and are expected to work up to 60-hours a week for 4-6 weeks. Lodging, per diem, and other travel are typically not provided; Interns must have a place to stay in the shooting area of each project.

Below are more details on the program. Apply below.

  • Applicants must be 18 years old or older.
  • Applicants do NOT have to be currently enrolled at TTC or any other education institution to be eligible.
  • Any current South Carolina resident with some professional experience as outlined in their submitted resume is eligible. Resume MUST also include a reference from at least one production professional.
  • Interns select their preferences for department in the application and will be matched to that department where possible.
  • Start dates will be determined by the schedule of participating Productions and the availability of selected candidates. Those could occur any time during the year.
  • Interns will be required to work 5-days a week for no more than 12-hours per day for up to 4-6 weeks. Exact schedule will depend on final production schedule and Productions’ needs. Interns will be paid $10/hour by TTC.
  • Interns will be overseen by a direct supervisor on each Production and a TTC Intern Coordinator. Any Intern can be terminated by Production at any time for any reason sufficiently related to poor performance.

PLEASE NOTE: By agreement with participating Productions, only Interns with some production experience will be placed. All candidates must show some production experience and core production competencies on their required resume.
